It's who we are.................it's what we are doing
Our journey of faith began in the mid-1800's in Rockwall. We are a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a congregational movement that began in the early 19th century on the American frontier. The purposes of this movement remain: to open Christ's table to all people, to place the scriptures at the center of faith, and to provide a place where people from all denominational backgrounds can find a home.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper are two means of fulfilling these purposes. We practice baptism by immersion but affirm the Christian baptism of incoming members, no matter the amount of water used. We celebrate God's love in the sharing of communion. All people are invited as we share the table each week. As a family of faith we are bound together by one simple but focused affirmation of faith: That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and personal Savior. As disciples of Christ, our journey is a challenge to grow in spirit, wisdom, fellowship, teaching, and prayer within a nurturing community of love, acceptance, caring and hope.
